THE LPL Speaks with James Cook and Luke Stewart.
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. — James Cook, a decorated and experienced Muay Thai fighter has come to the Bay Area to train with various instructors at several gyms. We caught up with James at the Ralph Gracie Academy in San Francisco, California. James "Professor" Cook has a record of (2-0) in MMA bouts and is fighting for a Junior Lightweight Title this weekend at WarGods "Do or Die" event in Fresno, California. A grounded individual who comes from Minnesota to train and fight, James is no stranger to competition and hard work. "Professor" Cook trains out of Minnesota Martial Arts Academy with fighters like Caitlin Young, Brock Larson and the newest MMA sensation, Brock Lesnar. Listen in to find out who James is currently training with, and how he feels about WarGods as a promotion.
Luke Stewart has a professional record of (6-1) and is making his ascent to the top of Strikeforce's 170lb. division. Although Stewart is considered a submission artist, his fight record shows that he has stand-up skills as well. Stewart has won three matches by T(KO) and three by submission, with one decision. This affirms that Luke is a true mixed martial artist with well-rounded skills. Stewart trains out of several gyms in the Bay Area, yet we caught up with him at the Ralph Gracie Academy. Listen in as Luke talks about his fight with Joe "Diesel" Riggs, and fills us in his thoughtS on the collapse of EliteXC. Although Luke is grounded and modest, Luke confidently states that he feels leading into this fight he will make a run at the Strikeforce Welterweight Belt. Listen in and give another one of the Bay Area's elite athletes your support.
